Hello readers!! Let me ask you a simple question - Does anybody enjoys working on weekends? No... I have not gone mad... and I am not kidding. Till date I have not found anyone who enjoys working on weekends except a few friends. Even I really used to hate working on weekends from the bottom of my heart. But things changed after a few weeks.
It happened so - When I was a new joinee, I had to spend a good number of weekends in office. No matter how hard we try to avoid it, there used to be no way out. So instead of complaining about it, we decided to accept our fate and started looking out for ways to make our office hours on weekends enjoyable. Here are a couple of positive(?) things that we discovered about working on weekends -
1. You can play music loudly on your mobile. Absolutely no need to worry about the volume unless people sitting around you belong to other teams. They are likely to pretend that you are disturbing them and try to show off how hard they are working.
2. You do not have to come to office early unless clearly told. So you can grab those extra two-three hours of sleep.
3. No formal wears!! Full chance to show off your new trendy casual wears.
4. Most probably the canteen will be closed or open for restricted hours. A good reason to head towards a nearby good restaurant. If someone in your group has a pending treat then this is the best time to go for it.
5. You can extend your lunch time beyond fixed hours. Your boss is not going to call you today when you are out for lunch.
6. You can work peacefully as an entity called "Boss" is not in the office. He will be calling you only once at the end of the day for status. (Why he does not do it on weekdays too?)
7. You can take a short afternoon nap without getting those nasty stares.
8. There will not be any queue in front of the vending machines and washrooms.
9. God knows how but all air conditioners will work properly. (Do they also enjoy working on weekends?)
10. The most attractive perk - you can claim a complementary off during a week for all the work (?) you have done on weekend.
So next time when you are working on weekend, do not complain... just chill !!

hahaha!..well said..but the comp off..I dont think it happens..if that is the case then working on weekend shld be some tough task..
@Unknown : Ya.. it's a bit tricky to get the comp offs. But we were lucky to get it :)

Weekends in office is actually a lot of fun. In some companies, bandwidth restrictions are lifted during the weekends, which means unlimited downloads. :D
But yeah, comp offs are hard to come by and it takes some real convincing power to get them. :|
